How to spin the wheel
- Type your options: names, prizes, chores or what to have for dinner. Add an option adds a row, and each option has its own colour.
- Give an option a bigger Weight to make it more likely: weight 2 is twice as likely as weight 1, and its slice is twice as wide.
- Press SPIN, or the Space bar or Enter outside a text field. The wheel turns 5–7 times and slows down like a real one.
- Turn on Remove the winning option after each spin to draw options one by one, for an order of speakers or a list of prizes.
Is the wheel fair?
The winner and the exact stopping point inside its slice are drawn first, from the browser’s cryptographic generator, and only then does the wheel spin to land there. Nothing about the speed of your click or the animation changes the result: with equal weights every option has exactly the same chance.
For a classroom, a stream or a meeting, the full-screen button leaves only the wheel on screen. Sound is off by default and can be turned on with the speaker button.
Questions
Is my list saved?
Yes, in this browser only, so the wheel is ready the next time you open the page. Nothing is uploaded.
Can I use the wheel for a giveaway?
For fun, yes. If participants must be able to check the result, use the giveaway picker with a published fingerprint.
Just two options?
Flip a coin or ask a yes or no question.
