How to pick a random number
- Enter the range: From and To, for example 1 and 100. The limits are included.
- Choose How many numbers you need, up to 10,000 at once.
- Turn on No repeats if every number must be different, Sort for an ordered list, or set decimal places.
- Press Generate, or the Space bar or Enter anywhere outside a text field. The copy button puts the numbers on the clipboard.
Any range, any size
- Negative and huge numbers. A range like −50 to 50 works, and so do numbers up to 45 digits long.
- Decimals. With decimal places every value of that grid is equally likely: 0 to 1 with 2 places gives 0.00, 0.01 … 1.00.
- No repeats. Works on any range. If you ask for more different numbers than the range holds, you get a clear error instead of a frozen page.
- Lottery presets. 6/49, 6/45, 5/36, 5/50 + 2/12 (the EuroJackpot format) and 5/69 + 1/26 (the Powerball format) in one click.
Is every number equally likely?
Yes. The common shortcut, a random 32-bit number modulo the size of the range, makes small results come up slightly more often. RandomBench throws away the values that cause this bias and draws again, so 1 is exactly as likely as 100 in any range, from 1–3 to a 30-digit one. All numbers come from the browser’s cryptographic generator.
